G.I. Hist Support is a formula designed to assist patients who have trouble processing external sources of histamine rich foods and nutritional elements. This formula is especially helpful for those with genetic weaknesses in A01C (Diamine Oxidase), the main enzyme responsible for the degradation of ingested histamine.*
The active ingredient in G.I. Hist Support is porcine-derived diamine oxidase, and research suggests that DAO derived from porcine kidney appears to have identical action to DAO derived from porcine intestine.*
Each ingredient is clinically tested to assist with histamine degradation and the oxidative stress created by histamines.*
Common symptoms of histamine intolerance include:
Accelerated heart rate
Difficulty regulating body temperature
Nausea and/or abdominal cramps
Flushing or redness of the face/skin
Nasal congestion, sneezing, difficulty breathing
An impaired histamine degradation based on reduced A01C (Diamine Oxidase) activity and the resulting histamine excess may cause numerous symptoms mimicking an allergic reaction. The ingestion of histamine-rich food or of alcohol or drugs that release histamine or block diamine oxidase may provoke stomach issues, headache, flushing and other conditions in patients with histamine intolerance. Diamine oxidase from porcine kidney may help assist with these types of issues.*
Histamine is not only produced in the body but is also present in many fermented foods, such as sauerkraut, sausage, cheese, yogurt, and alcoholic beverages. Tuna, olives, spinach, eggplant, avocados, tomatoes, cherries, and citrus fruits are other histamine-containing foods which may cause GI irritation or histamine related reactions.
Quercetin: Naturally found in onions, quercetin is a mast cell stabilizer and a powerful natural flavonoid. Quercetin has been shown to inhibit certain compounds that typically affect sinus and non-viral respiratory health.*
Stinging Nettles: Studies have shown stinging nettles, through clinical results, has demonstrated both promising mechanismsfor supporting nasal passageway health. While further study is needed, trials have shown stinging nettles showed measurable differences vs. placebo after only one week.*
Bromelain: A pineapple enzyme, bromelain has proven mucolytic properties. As such, bromelain supports normal mucousal tissue function and enhances the absorption of quercetin.*
N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC): An amino acid that is a natural mucolytic, NAC reduces the viscosity of mucus. Studies have shown individuals have been treated effectively without side effects when given NAC which is used in many nutritional supplements.*
G.I. Hist Support does not manage or address antibody-related food allergies.
